Now Open: Hive House Brings Playful Boutique Vibes to Cary’s Hotel Scene

Blending bold design, thoughtful touches and a name that suits its energy, Hive House is a fresh new addition to Cary’s growing hospitality mix.
A 45-suite boutique hotel from locally owned CMC Hotels, Hive House opened July 15 just two miles from downtown Cary. Designed for longer stays but with a design-forward twist, the hotel blends vintage charm, modern amenities and plenty of personality.

Each two-room suite comes with a full kitchen, separate living and sleeping areas and interiors packed with color, texture and whimsical details. The vibe is eclectic and creative—think curated furniture, retro light fixtures, bold murals and even a tile mosaic that greets elevator riders with a cheerful “hello lovely” message.
Guests can unwind in the hotel’s buzzing lounge (complete with a pool table and chess nook), break a sweat in the Peloton-equipped fitness center and breeze through check-in with a fully digital arrival.

Located at 1121 Ledsome Ln., Hive House sits just off US-1 and I-40, making it easy to reach from nearly anywhere in the region. It’s a quick drive to downtown Cary, where a walkable mix of local restaurants, boutiques and historic buildings centers around the new Downtown Cary Park—a beautifully designed 7-acre green space with water features, play equipment, food kiosks and family-friendly programming.

Nearby, Fenton offers a sleek mix of upscale shopping and chef-driven dining, while Koka Booth Amphitheatre provides a scenic lakeside setting for outdoor concerts, movies and festivals under the pines. Just a few blocks from the hotel, Crossroads Plaza is a major retail hub with national stores, casual eats and a movie theater—great for stocking up or grabbing dinner. And for something local, Baker’s Dozen Donuts, just a few minutes away, is a Cary favorite known for its fresh, no-frills classics that often sell out by mid-morning (pro tip: apple fritter is a runaway favorite here).

Hive House is tailor-made for travelers who want more than just a room—remote workers setting up for the week, families visiting relatives, couples seeking a weekend base near Raleigh but with a slower pace. It’s also part of a growing national trend: boutique extended-stay hotels that combine the flexibility of longer lodging with the character and design of an independent stay.

The hotel is the latest project from CMC Hotels, a Cary-based, family-owned hospitality company with deep local roots. Among nearly a dozen hotels in their portfolio, CMC also brought the first Westin to Raleigh in 2023 (a summer favorite staycation spot thanks in part to a rooftop plunge pool).
