The Carolina Hurricanes beat Vegas in Game 6 to win the Stanley Cup! The Canes will host a Championship Celebration in downtown Raleigh on Sat., June 20 at 11am. More details to come!
Official: Raleigh's Carolina Hurricanes have won the Stanley Cup!
The Canes put on a dominant performance in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final in Las Vegas, blanking the Golden Knights with a final score of 3-0 to close out the series on the road.
This is the second time in team history that the Hurricanes have captured Lord Stanley's Cup—the first time was twenty years ago, in 2006. Hurricanes coach Rod Brind'Amour was captain of that 2006 team, making him the first person in more than 70 years to be both player/captain and then later head coach of the same Stanley Cup championship team.

And while this Hurricanes squad plays as the ultimate "every man does his job" team, veteran Jordan Staal was awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy as the most valuable player in the playoffs. Staal, a member of the Canes since 2012, scored goals in five of the six games in the Stanley Cup Final.
This win caps off both a legendary season and an historic run for the Hurricanes—the team's three losses in this year's playoff run are the second fewest in NHL history, and no team in the NHL has more regular season plus playoff wins over the last eight years than Carolina.
What's next? The Canes will bring the Stanley Cup back to Raleigh for a Championship Celebration. And next year? The Canes are expected to bring back almost all players for another run at a championship—the season starts in October!
When is the Parade or Championship Celebration in Raleigh?
Immediately following the Stanley Cup win, the Hurricanes announced that there will be a Championship Celebration hosted in downtown Raleigh on Sat., June 20, beginning at 11am. Tradition generally calls for a parade through the winning team's city—more details will be announced very soon.
Raleigh Mayor Janet Cowell has issued a proclamation that June 20 will be Carolina Hurricanes Day.

Will the Stanley Cup be on display in Raleigh?
Maybe for the official Championship Celebration and some other special events throughout the year, but generally no.
The Stanley Cup spends approximately 300 days a year on the road—each player and staff member of the Hurricanes will each get a chance to spend 24 hours with the Cup as part of its annual summer tour, and the Cup also travels globally for charitable events, special ceremonies and other marketing opportunities.
When was the last time the Hurricanes won the Stanley Cup?
The Hurricanes defeated the Edmonton Oilers in seven games in 2006 to win the Stanley Cup for the first time in team history. Previously, the Canes had reached the Stanley Cup Final in 2002 before losing to Detroit.
So 2026 marks the second time the Hurricanes have won the Stanley Cup title.
