The Visit NC Farms App

GRCVB often shares various opportunities for partners to reach visitors to Raleigh/Wake County. And this week we are highlighting an opportunity for our farm-related partners—the Visit NC Farms app ("Visit NC" not to be confused with our statewide tourism organization, Visit North Carolina). The Visit NC Farms app, with the help of the N.C. Cooperative Extension, works directly with farmers throughout the state to reach visitors and North Carolinians alike.
Launched in 2018 as a pilot program by the N.C. Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services, the Visit NC Farms app now represents 86 of 100 counties across our state and more than 1,500 agribusinesses. The initiative aims to connect millions of visitors and residents with local farms and fisheries, farmers' markets and you-pick farms, farm stays and lodging, tours and trails and special agricultural events.
Users can enable the location on their phone within the app and find participating farms near them offering a variety of farm-focused activities, as well as community-supported agriculture programs for locally-grown produce and even full-day itineraries within the app.
The Visit NC Farms app is available for download on both Apple and Android phones. Wake County farm businesses interested in participating with the app can contact administrators here.
